University Police Department

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Department’s mission focuses on providing a safe and secure learning, living and working environment for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is accomplished through partnerships within the multidisciplinary community, and working in conjunction with traditional law enforcement for the development of progressive, community-based crime prevention strategies and initiatives. All members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Department (XUPD) will provide the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and customer service in support of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s mission to educate future leaders who will go on to create a more just and humane society.

Blue Light Safety Poles

As part of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Department's continuing efforts to improve campus safety, the Code Blue Emergency System is placed in strategic locations around campus. This system uses call towers located in various parts of the campus and is activated by pushing the red button located on the front of the tower and speaking normally. When activated, the towers call the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Department via a telephone line dedicated to the system. Additionally, when activated, the system allows the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø dispatcher visual surveillance of the tower and the immediate surrounding area.
